Industrial Systems

Most industrial facilities have the same types of energy consuming systems. The usage of these systems can vary significantly from one industry to another. It is important that you understand where energy is used in your facility, so that you can focus on the systems that have the greatest potential impact on your company's bottom line.

For instance, an average wood products facility may consume a large amount of natural gas to generate steam for use in processing their products. A metal fabrication facility may use significant amounts of electricity in a heat treating process. While these facilities likely have other systems, the largest energy using systems have the largest potential for energy savings, so focusing on the largest energy consuming system has the greatest savings potential.

Use your in-depth knowledge of the energy systems at your facility to determine the proper starting point for your company, and then focus on the systems that will have the greatest potential savings.
